It is essential to the fit of the saddle that the correct panels are selected, afterall they are the ony part of the saddle that is weight bearing and must correctly distribute the riders weight whilst allowing the musculature at the base of the withers room to work. If there is not enough room the horse can at worst become hollow in outline and suffer muscle wastage and at best not 'swing through' in its’ lateral work.

All panels can be ordered with different widths of gullet and with or without a front gusset. and tabs.

Panels without a Tab will mount higher up nearer the tree so the panel support comes up to the fixing point on the front of the panel.

Panels with a tab sit further down from the tree spacing the panels further apart at the front. This will accommodate a wider lower withered horse like a typical warmblood or cob build.

It does not necessarily follow that wide gullets are for wide horses. A horse that is well muscled but narrow in headplate angle will require a wider gullet to compensate for gullet narrowing with a narrower headplate.

Gussets are available in standard, deep, or double deep. This combined with gullet width and tab options offers you a truly flexible panel so that you really can have a great fitting saddle which can change as your horse does.
